This is part of an estate sale that I have going on. Keep checking back to see new items that I will be listing. This is from a 20 plus year collection. Been packed away or setting in a display. Just a heads up for those that are like me, not that knowledgeable about trains, the car in the middle looks like it is missing the front truck. Every site I checked shows the exact same car just like this one.

This is a HO scale train set made by Lima. It includes a locomotive and two 2-story cars, all painted in multicolor and featuring the Deutsche Bahn corporate roadname. The train set is pre-built and made of plastic material. It is graded as C-7 Excellent and operates on HO gauge tracks.

By the 1970s, Lufthansa built a large airline network in Germany, and competed with Bundesbahn. But some domestic lines were unprofitable. To solve the problem they operated the unprofitable lines by trains instead of airplanes. Lufthansa chartered Bundesbahn’s trains and operated them as one of their flights. Lufthansa decided to start this service first in the line between Düsseldorf and Frankfurt. For this service, electric multiple units of ET403/404 were used. This class was born as an InterCity train in 1973, but in 1979 it retired from daily service – Bundesbahn wanted to make better use of this train, so Lufthansa chartered a new train: the “Lufthansa Airport Express”.
