Offered for sale is a model railroad trestle and roadbed set designed to be mounted indoors or outdoors at floor level or under the ceiling as an overhead layout. This set can be used in THREE different ways. 1 – As a trestle-mounted circle going around a Xmas tree using either 4 foot or 8 foot diameter. LGB 11K or 16K or. 2 As a garden layout mounted on trestles or. 3 As an overhead ceiling layout. Designed to be used with G-Scale trains such as the ones made by LGB, PIKO, USA Trains, Aristo Craft, Bachmann, AML and many others. Trains, rail tracks and power supplies/controllers are NOT included in the sale price. They are shown for illustration purposes only. FLOOR TRESTLES are designed to be mounted either on a hard floor surface, a carpet or on a wide variety of garden grounds. They have two leveling (lag) bolts on their lower surface, for placement on any uneven ground surface. Roadbeds are securely mounted on the top surface of the trestles with a # 8 x 1-1/2 inch screw (included). The distance from the floor to the mounted roadbed surface is approximately 15-1/2 inches. A locomotives cab window stands about 22 inches from the ground. This is very useful for people running live steam locomotives in the outdoors. Floor trestles are manufactured from structural quality SPF lumber. ROADBEDS that support the tracks are manufactured from ¾ cabinet grade sanded pine plywood finished and painted the same as the trestles and have been edge-banded with real wood veneer. They are all 5 wide. These roadbeds have four grooves on their upper-side to resemble the thick beams that were once placed on real trestle bridges in the past. Roadbeds are securely joined to each other using two ¼ X 1-¼ hardwood dowel pins. NO GLUING is necessary. Both sections are securely held together with a 2 steel plate (see picture). Roadbeds are also joined in modular groups using two L brackets that are kept together with a thumb screw and a wing nut. With L brackets, roadbeds can be joined and separated just by feel, without having to stoop down and under A REAL BACK SAVER. Modular groups provide an easy and quick way of dis-assembling a layout either to re-assemble it at another location or for after season storage. Once the tracks are mounted and secured on the roadbeds, the modules can be moved and stored without having to remove the track sections. CURVED ROADBED two foot radius sections each have a lineal center run of 12.37 and 3 sections make up 90 degrees. They correspond to the R-1 LGB track designation with a center-to-center radius of 600mm (23.6). They can be used with LGB 11000, AML G213-04, USA Trains R81100 and Piko 35211 tracks. CURVED ROADBED four foot radius sections each have a lineal center run of 18.48 and 4 sections make up 90 degrees. They correspond to the R-3 LGB track designation with a center-to-center radius of 1,195mm (47.0). They can be used with LGB 16000, AML G213-08 and USA Trains R81600 tracks. RB-24-ST STRAIGHT ROADBED sections each have a run of 600mm (23.622). They are securely joined together in the same way as the curved roadbeds. The set for sale includes the following individual items. Twelve, floor trestles with footings and levelers. Twelve, curved roadbeds for 2 foot radius tracks. Sixteen, curved roadbeds for 4 foot radius tracks. Seven, straight roadbeds 24 inches long each. One, custom made 4 long roadbed with an equal section of track, to be placed on the garden layout. All necessary mounting hardware (joining plates, dowels, L brackets and screws). Also included is a full set of mounting instructions. A layout blueprint within the collection of pictures outlines the exact placement of the trestles and roadbeds as a garden. Layout within a 15 x 12 space. Total roadbed footage is 38.8 feet. Also included in the picture set are two blueprints for the mounting of these trestles around a Xmas tree circle, either using 2 or 4 foot radius tracks.
