LGB 20533 Limited-Edition Green Schweiger 150 Jahre Set – w/ Car Ceiling Lights! You can see Schweiger’s toy store logo on the loco and cars in this set. A yellow one in 1985 (20528 with 1000 sets), the green set on sale here, a red & blue set in 1987 (20535 with 1500 sets), the “Vedes” set in 1988 (no LGB number with only 150 sets), and a “40 Years Toy Fair Nuremburg” in 1989 (no LGB number with only 150 sets). The last picture is provided as reference only from a 1990 Christmann LGB Collector Catalog book to provide more information about set 20533. This book is NOT included in this sale! The set has one loco (2020) and three cars (two coaches & a diner). Loco 2020’s during this period came with directional lighting & track pickups but no smoking smokestack. The three passenger cars have LGB branded ceiling lights that I installed myself with wiring from car to car and then to the loco which provides the power. While I tested the loco as can be seen in the video, I did not test the car interior lights. This set comes in a nice display box with a carrying handle on the top. This is a collectible limited-edition set. It is not a “starter” set so did not come with a transformer and track. This set is in very good condition. Except for maybe a couple runs under a Christmas tree, this set has been kept for nearly 40 years in its box stored in a closet in my smoke free home. This set has never been on display and exposed to dust. As you can see in the video the loco runs very smoothly and the directional lights work. The only issues I can see on this loco are what appear to be two spots on the smoke box below the smokestack on both sides maybe left by either sap or oil. In the close-up photos showing these two spots (one barely visible) you can also see there is some over spray of the silver paint on the smoke box on to the black boiler. That’s a rare LGB QA mistake. The box itself is in very good condition. It does show some wear, and there are a number of scratches. The worse scratch is across the LGB logo on the front. The box has some damage where the handle is at the top. There is no paperwork included with this set. That means what you see is what you get.
