The seki6000 was side unloading 4 axle wagon of which 1509 were modified from seki3000s in 1968 by JNR in house manufacturing centers to increase operating speed to 65 kph…… Capable of carrying 30 ton of coal (or in this case limestone), the cars were re assigned mainly to the hokkaido region, japan’s coal producing center….. The upgraded wagons lasted in service until 1998, as japanese coal became increasingly uncompetitive…… The hoki7000 was a bottom opening hopper car designed for carrying quick lime; built primarily by Mitsubishi for the adachi lime mining Corp. Between 1965 and 1972, the wagons could carry 30 tons at 75 kph…….. The wafu29500 was a combination box car and brake van constructed in the 1950s to service secondary routes in rural japan; 650 wagons were built by nippon sharyo and wawasaki capable of carrying 5 tons at 75 kph….. This set reproduces a unit train serving on the hakubi line in the mountainous chugoku region of western japan; as a reminder, the seki6000 loads are limestone…….. The only accessories for the set are the brake and unloading wheels for the seki6000s whose installation can be abetted with the printed instruction in japanese and pictures…….. Please note: I have removed the accessories necessary for converting generic kato D51 locomotives to niimi engine depot specified – both smoke deflectors and number boards – as no locomotives are included in this sale and, in reality, no steam locomotives towed this unit train…….
