LGB 72257 MTS SUPER STARTER SET. LIKE NEW IN THE BOX. A wonderful train set to be run under the Christmas tree. Or the beginnings of something wonderful in the world of trains. This train set is the BEST LGB ever built. This set is not to be confused with the 72255 starter set. They look the same, but this set has the last and best version of MTS, called MTS III(“P” or Parallel version). What is MTS, why is it so great? MTS is LGB’s version of R/C trains. With MTS you can turn the train lights on and off, I believe you can turn the smoke on the steam engine on and off and the engine never even has to move. You can turn these items on and off while the train is standing still. You can run the two trains simultaneously on the same train track in opposite directions. Unheard of until MTS was created. This however has one downside. You have to be vigilant on watching for train accidents. And that’s what the big STOP button is for on the remote control. This set is the king supreme of all LGB Starter sets. And when you start purchasing the larger trains with MTS and sound and so forth the MTS will allow you to do even more. I believe this train was set up once, but I’m not sure if all the pieces were even used. There is next to no signs of use on the trains. The remote control transform looks new too.
