This train set was gently played with only a few times during all these years. Everything is complete and in excellent overall condition. The sticky dissolving rubber grip from the controller has been totally cleaned up. Tested / works great (see video), and is ready for use! Your satisfaction is important to me. This is G scale. These are used items. I did not see any cracks, chips or breaks in the tracks or cars. There is a locomotive, coal car, box car, caboose, 18 pieces of curved track, 10 pieces of straight track. The original set came with 12 curved pieces and 4 straight pieces, so there are 12 extras. There is no remote. When I put the batteries in the coal car and connected it to the locomotive, the light in the back of the loco lit up and it started making noise. It did not move, when I pushed the button. It may need a remote for movement. Batteries required for operation and are not included. The coal car is missing the top and the box car is missing the crate with the leg lamp. Original box is not available. All train items are from my father’s estate. Lionel Battery Powered G-Gauge Train Set. Target Exclusive from 2009. This Train Set is USED. This train was put on a shelf for display for a Christmas season or two. The train is in great shape, as it has been stored inside the box when not on display. The box shows some fairly heavy wear from storage of over 10 years, and appears to be faded in color. NOTE: The material on the sides of the remote controller had begun to deteriorate from age (it became sticky from deteriorating, which is common with that type of material), so I tried to clean it up. After removing that layer of material, the sides are now just a smooth plastic, similar to the rest of the controller. Please be aware of this before purchasing. NOTE: Requires (2) AA batteries & (6) C batteries. See the attached Picture(s). Please be sure to inspect all pictures to examine condition of item(s) before purchasing.
