You are considering an LGB #20301 The Big Train Passenger Train Car set. The set include the engine, two passenger cars, curved track to make about a 5′ oval, and transformer. The set does includes the original 4 train people. I included a bunch of pictures and a video but happy to provide more views if you message me! This LGB 20301 The Big Train Passenger Car starter set is in very good to excellent condition. I do not want exaggerate nor do I know the specific grading condition for the LGB trains so please see the video and pictures and you can decide for yourself. The engine and passenger cars are clean and free of chips or scraps. The engine and passenger cars are not missing any pieces. The track show some normal signs of wear as this set had been used during holidays and then put into storage for the past 10 years or so. The transformer works perfectly and as designed. The train set is fully functional as shown in the video. The set includes the 4 people figures including two conductors and two passengers which is a bonus since those pieces are the ones that usually get lost! The LGB train set is in its original box. The box is intact meaning it remains perfectly fine for storing the trains and track. The Styrofoam insert holds the train pieces and track securely. The cover / top shows signs of wear with some paper loss and has tape on it — not perfect! The train was only used indoors for limited time during the holidays. The set was used and stored in a smoke-free and climate-controlled home. The train is fully functional as shown in the pictures and video.

LGB stands for Lehmann Gross Bahn – the “Lehmann Big Train” in German. Made by Ernst Paul Lehmann Patentwerk in Nuremberg, Germany, since 1968 and by Marklin since 2007, it is the most popular garden railway model in Europe, although there are also many models of U. LGB caused a revival of garden model railroading in the United States when it was introduced. Walthers, who took over from Ernst Paul Lehmann’s subsidiary, LGB of America, when Märklin bought the LGB assets. Most of the European prototypes were manufactured in Germany, while much of the North American rolling stock was made in China. Production is now located in Hungary. LGB trains are responsible for introducing “G” scale to model railroading. The scale ratio used by LGB is nominally 1:22.5, yet many dimensions are often changed to allow operation on very tight R1 curves. American prototypes especially suffer from this. Other G-scale (and Gauge 1) manufacturers produce products that range from 1:20 to 1:32, and for the most part, all use the same track and are compatible with one another. Though they can all run on the same track (45 mm gauge), models representing narrow-gauge versions of trains or locomotives would not normally be run together with models of larger full-scale vehicles. To fit the same standard track the latter must be built using different scales. To illustrate the point, 1:22.5 scale passengers and/or train crew are somewhat over-sized when displayed in proximity with 1:32 models. Though the models may be physically compatible, many people choose a style or era to fit their desires and pick one ratio (in the range of 1:20.3 to 1:32) to model all of their trains.
