Playmobil Western Train Set 3958 Vintage 1988 w/ Box – RARE G-Scale Sears Only Release. Here are main points to consider. The set itself comes in its original box and has all of the figures original to the set. 1 black pole in the front of the engine has broken off, but it has been glued back on. This set is missing its original instruction booklet. There are 12 pieces of curved track. I do know however that it is missing the woman’s bag and umbrella as well as the man’s cane, and one lamp. The box has a couple of tears to the top cover and the bottom Styrofoam portion of the box has one end broken off (see photos above). The trains themselves appear to be in wonderful condition. I did my best to assemble it to get accurate pictures. This set comes from a smoke free, pet free home. This scarce train set was a Sears Exclusive released in 1988, retired in 1989, and never reissued. LGB stands for Lehman Gross Bahn, manufactured in Germany. LGB trains are now manufactured by other companies, making original LGB trains highly sought after and collectible.
